Call for Volunteers
We are seeking volunteers to assist with the upcoming Annual Convention. Roles include serving as greeters, navigators, workshop helpers, providing light technical support, and runners (plus other duties as assigned). If you are interested in serving, please email Nerissa Crockett no later than Friday, October 3rd, and let us know which role(s) you are interested in. Your support will help us create a smooth, welcoming, and successful convention experience for all attendees.
Art Show
Telling Our Stories-Sharing Our Gifts in Art
Throughout Convention, two-dimensional art by members of the Association of Visual Artists of the Diocese of Virginia will be on display. The show will include works in a variety of media on paper, canvas, or wood. Many will be for sale by the artist, with a portion of proceeds given to support ministries of the Diocese. Watch for bursts of color around the Convention Center.

Book Signing
Canon David Pitts, who lives in Richmond, and is a parishioner at St. Stephen’s, has recently published a book, “Lift Up Your Hearts: Liturgies and Ceremonies of the Episcopal Church”. The Foreword was written by the recently retired Presiding Bishop Michael Curry, and the Prologue by Bishop Neil Alexander, retired from Atlanta and Sewanee, and who now serves as the Custodian of the Standard Book of Common Prayer. Bishop Stevenson is featured on the cover of the book. Canon Pitts will be available at the annual diocesan convention to discuss the book and for signing.

Rules of Order
Participating at Convention
Voting Instructions: All delegates must bring a personal device (phone, tablet, or laptop) with internet access in order to participate in voting.
This year we will be using a new electronic voting system called VPOLL.
Speaking During Debate: Understanding how and when to voice your opinions during debate can be confusing. Watch this video to learn the ins and outs of this system.
Respiratory Guidance Guidelines: As the threat from COVID-19 becomes more similar to that of other common respiratory viruses, the CDC is issuing Respiratory Virus Guidance, rather than additional virus-specific guidance.
Translation Announcement
As in previous years, Spanish translation will be available. This year, we are partnering with a new translation company, and in addition to Spanish, we are pleased to offer Korean translation as well.
Translation will be accessed through your own device (preferably a mobile phone) and earbuds. You may download the Interprefy app ahead of time or wait until you arrive at the Convention Center to do so.
A limited number of earbuds will be available for those who forget theirs. You can pick them up at the Tech Table or ask a staff member with a red name badge or one of our volunteers wearing red shirts for assistance.
