The Rt. Rev. Susan Goff, Bishop Suffragan and Ecclesiastical Authority, announced today that the Rt. Rev. Jennifer Brooke-Davidson has accepted a call to serve as Assistant Bishop of the Diocese of North Carolina.

Goff, Bishop Suffragan and Ecclesiastical Authority, announce with joyful thanksgiving that Presiding Bishop Michael Curry has notified the Diocese of Virginia that the Rev. Canon E. Mark Stevenson has received the required majority of consents from the House of Bishops and the Standing Committees of the dioceses of The Episcopal Church.

The Rt. Reverend Bishop Peter James Lee, 12th Bishop of the Diocese of Virginia, passed away in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on July 2, 2022. He was 84. Bishop Lee served for 25 years as Bishop of Virginia, from 1984 to 2009.

Yesterday, evil in all its murderous destruction visited Buffalo, New York, where an 18-year-old with tactical gear and an assault rifle deliberately took the lives of 10 people and seriously injured three more.

This afternoon the Standing Committee of the Diocese of Virginia announced the decision of a majority of its members not to add any petition candidates to the slate for the election of the 14th Bishop Diocesan.
