On September 28, Bishop E. Mark Stevenson ordained Jon Scarffe and Redmond Self to the Sacred Order of Priests at St. Anne’s, Reston. Two days later, Bishop Stevenson traveled to St. Joseph’s in Durham, North Carolina, to ordain Lachlan Hassman to the Priesthood.
The Rev. Jon Scarffe was sponsored for ordination by St. Alban’s, Annandale. He now serves as a Chaplain with Goodwin Hospice and as Assisting Clergy at Church of the Resurrection, Alexandria.
The Rev. Redmond Self was sponsored by the Young Priest Initiative, a program that allows young adults to discern a call to leadership outside of the typical parish setting. He is now Priest Associate at Church of the Good Shepherd in Burke.
The Rev. Lachlan Hassman is engaged in doctoral studies in Art History and Sacred Art at Duke University. He is also serving as Associate Vicar at St. Joseph’s, Durham, North Carolina.
