Forty-nine teachers, administrators and one resource officer’s dog from King William’s Hamilton Holmes Middle School enjoyed being served lunch Monday, August 17, by St. David’s, Aylett, members and volunteers.
Since 2024, St. David’s has been bringing together teachers, administrators and staff from the county’s middle school to show appreciation for their often challenging work and dedication to county children.
Guests were served a selection of homemade dishes prepared by St. David’s members and topped off with a fancy cake. They also received goody bags as an extra token of appreciation. Even the service dog got a goody bag.
In her welcome words, Ms. Malynn Unser shared St. David’s commitment to serve those who serve King William County’s children, and to let them know that the parish keeps them in prayer every Sunday and continues to appreciate their commitment to children.
The Teacher Appreciation Lunch is supported by individual donations and outreach funds raised through St. David’s annual crab cake sale at the West Point Crab Carnival. The parish’s outreach program also supports about 150 children through the countywide Christmas Dreams initiative, the Brain Injury Association of Virginia, the 2026 Linked for a Mission event, Bibles for Inmates, and other small grants to charitable organizations and churches in Virginia and abroad.
