Youth Delegates at Annual Convention

by | Apr 22, 2026

Help us to make this our best year yet for youth delegate participation in our Annual Convention!

Planners for the 232nd Annual Convention of the Diocese of Virginia (November 5-7, 2026, at the Fredericksburg Convention Center in Fredericksburg, VA) have set an ambitious goal of getting a youth delegate (not over 21 years old) from each of the 16 regions of the diocese. Youth delegates are an integral part of Annual Convention. They attend as ex officio members and have one vote each.

An informative, meaningful, fun experience is being planned for our delegates that will include an orientation created to meet their specific needs, full participation in all aspects of Convention, a reception with other youth delegates on Friday night, reserved tables at lunch, a workshop session catered to their needs and interests including time with one of our Bishops. There are no additional expenses other than the usual food and lodging.

It is required that youth delegates attend with a parent, guardian, or parent-approved person who stays with them at their chosen hotel. Youth delegate safety is our most important goal. If cost is a factor, the diocese will assist with the cost of lodging. While guides for youth delegates will be present at Convention, parents may choose to attend Annual Convention as a visitor at no additional cost.

The official deadline for submission of names of youth delegates is May 1; however, exceptions can be made. For more information, please contact Mark Eastham.
