In Spring 2026, Varina Episcopal Church in Henrico, Virginia began to think of ways to expand outreach and to live into the call to be the hands and feet of Christ in the world. Morgan Natoli, a parishioner at Varina Church and a Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at VCU Medical Center, noted that many of the babies in the unit were in need of blankets, hats, and other supplies to help keep them warm and to support their families. Just like that, a ministry was born!
Since that time, a number of Varina parishioners have been sharing their talents and their love in handmaking baby blankets, quilts, scent cloths, incubator covers, and baby hats. This month, the first batch of gifts was delivered to the NICU to the delight of all!
