The Creation Care Committee will be funding a limited number of Energy Efficiency audits for parishes so they can learn about ways in which they can reduce their energy consumption. We have partnered with an energy auditing firm that can provide energy audits for parishes in the Richmond and Charlottesville metropolitan areas. Other parishes throughout the Diocese can also apply if they can identify in their application the name of one or more companies in their area that are able to perform this work.
Once the Energy Efficiency audits have been completed, parishes will receive a detailed report that assesses their energy performance based on the general conditions in the church’s buildings, and identifies and prioritizes their opportunities for improvement. In addition, the report will identify financial incentives that are available through the local utility company, as well as through local, state, and Federal programs.
Parishes that are interested in applying for a free Energy Efficiency audit should email the Creation Care Committee at creationcare@episcopalvirginia.org no later than Friday, October 23rd to receive the application form and guidelines. Applications for the audits must be received by the committee no later than the close of business on Friday, November 6th.
