Every year, on the last Sunday of Epiphany, The Episcopal Church recognizes World Mission Sunday. This is a perfect time to add a prayer for world mission (or a Collect for Mission of the Church found on p. 257 of the Book of Common Prayer) and lift up your international partners and/or the partners of churches within the Diocese.

On August 6, 1925, Bishop William Cabell Brown consecrated the Cathedral Shrine of the Transfiguration in Orkney Springs, VA as the cathedral of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia and began the journey for what we now know and love as Shrine Mont.
