Water and Wilderness Church with Blessing of the Pets in Honor of St. Francis Feast Day
An interactive, intergenerational, interspecies outdoor worship service of contemplation and communion along the James River at Belle Isle. Together, we will give thanks to God our Creator, bless God’s creatures, and pray for the healing for God’s good creation. Father Pete Nunnally, founder of Water and Wilderness Church from the Diocese of Washington, will be our guest celebrant and preacher. Bring a camping chair and your well behaved pet, or a photo of your pet.
Access: Park in Belle Isle Parking lot (300 Tredegar Street) and walk across Belle Isle Suspension Bridge, come down the ramp, and take the immediate left to gather at the Chrysler Factory ruin.
