Join the Creation Care Committee and guests
When: Saturday, September 28th from 10 AM to 4 PM
Where: Tucker Hall, Roslyn Retreat Center, 8727 River Road, Henrico, VA. 23229
Wherever God calls you, there are things we know how to do now that are effective and make a difference in saving our planet for future generations.
These practices are mostly small and easy.
The focus will be on actions we can take, individually and collectively.
Old proverb: “Talking won’t cook the rice.” And it won’t save the planet, either.
Our Keynote Speaker is Rev. Dr. Faith Harris, Executive Director of the Virginia chapter of Interfaith Power and Light.
Committee members will give brief presentations about the work our subcommittees are doing, and invite your participation.
After lunch, there will be break-out workshops:
- gardening with Richmond-native species, with a little planting party at the end
- addressing common church building-site problems, referencing the massive project at Richmond Hill
- Nature Journaling, a spiritual practice
- possibly one other
Lunch will be provided by Roslyn’s very nice dining hall, which has lots of options.
