Makoto is back! His artistry and astonishing virtuosity have mesmerizing audience numerous times! This program features a song cycle “Le ceinture de ciel” for marimba and baritone which Makoto commissioned from Benjamin C. S. Boyle in 2024. With the acclaimed baritone Randall Scarlata, Makoto explores five magical poems by Paul Valéry. This will be the US premiere of Benjamin Boyle’s song cycle. The program also includes selections of J.S. Bach, and other works composed for Makoto. Don’t miss!
