Are you or someone from your congregation interested in being part of the conversations on world mission in the Diocese of Virginia? Please email Diane Wright, diocesan Global Mission Advocate, to be added to the email list.
Are you or members of your parish travelling abroad to support partners in mission in 2025? Let us know when and where! As Christians, we are called to serve together, as a body with many parts. As a Diocese, we can uphold each other in prayer, share resources, broaden connections, and take part in the sharing of God’s love. We may not all have the opportunity to travel, but we can accompany others in prayer. Thank you for sharing your recent or upcoming journeys.
Highlight from World Mission Sunday
The last Sunday in Epiphany of each year is designated as World Mission Sunday – a time when the Church comes together to focus on the global impact of our call to “seek and serve Christ in all persons”. In celebration of this World Mission Sunday (March 2, 2025), The Office of Global Partnerships of The Episcopal Church invited the Secretary General of the Anglican Communion, Bishop Anthony Poggo, to offer an online sermon. In this inspirational sermon, Bishop Poggo examines mission and our role as Christian witnesses.

How can global mission strengthen us spiritually and enrich congregational vitality? The Rev. Shirley Smith Graham, diocesan Minister for Congregational Vitality, will share how her experiences as a missionary in South Sudan enriched her spiritual journey and inform her work today in congregational vitality. Join us to explore how we, as individuals and congregations, can meet more of God as we encounter new people in new places, allowing us to share more and ultimately love more.

Epiphany Bible Study: The Global Face of Jesus
This Epiphany season, The Episcopal Church joins partners from across the Anglican Communion to produce a Bible Study series and bulletin inserts for church use. These resources will help readers reflect on the global face of Jesus through weekly reflections written by our siblings in Christ from around the world. This seasonal resource will culminate on World Mission Sunday, with a published sermon by Bishop Anthony Poggo, Secretary General of The Anglican Communion. Learn more.

Haiti Partnerships

If currently active in Haiti, please complete this survey put together by The Office of Global Partnerships to gather this information. Please contact Diane Wright with any questions.
