Nov 25, 2024 | News Releases

The Rev. Will Dickinson has been called as the diocesan Minister for Transition. He will begin this new role on December 1, 2024. The primary focus of Rev. Dickinson’s ministry is to work with vestries and search committees to identify best practices, train leaders, and create processes that will empower Vestries to call effective clergy to lead our congregations. Please take the time to welcome Will as we strive together to Love Jesus, embody justice, and be disciples.

“Fr. Dickinson brings a deep faith, a pastor’s heart, and an energetic perspective to the work of transition in the Diocese of Virginia. I am looking forward to working with him, and to watching him help us move forward in the ministries to which we are each called.” ~The Rt. Rev’d E. Mark Stevenson

“I am thrilled to serve God and the people of our diocese with this team. I’ve been telling folks for decades that Virginia is the best place in the Church to do ministry, and to get to do so professionally now is a true gift. As we all continue to make our diocese a faithful, vibrant, and expansive place to do ministry together, I look forward to deepening friendships, resourcing faith communities, and witnessing to new visions of the Kingdom where all belong.” ~The Rev. Will Dickinson

“As a life-long Episcopalian, Will has established a rich relationship with the people, congregations, and ministries associated with the Diocese of Virginia which will serve all of us well though the Ministry of Transition. His love of the church, the diocese, and the people of God will be an integral addition to the Transition/Vocations Team.” ~The Rev. Canon d’Rue Hazel
