The Ministry for Racial Justice and Healing convened a dynamic gathering of new and returning members on February 3, 2025, at Grace Church, Casanova, marking a significant stride in its ongoing pursuit of racial justice and healing. The energy was palpable as the team engaged in robust planning sessions, laying the groundwork for impactful initiatives throughout the Diocese.
This dedicated group focused on strengthening and expanding its efforts through a variety of avenues, including educational initiatives, advocacy, and collaboration with existing diocesan ministries. A central theme of the meeting was the critical importance of reflecting the Diocese’s rich diversity across all facets of the ministry. With this goal in mind, the members established key roles and subcommittees designed to lead initiatives in crucial areas such as training, education, and support. These efforts will empower communities with the resources and understanding necessary to advance the ministry of justice and reconciliation in our Diocese.
The future of the ministry shines brightly, with Bishop Stevenson, Canon Hill, and both the incoming and outgoing leadership teams expressing enthusiastic support for its continued growth and positive influence across the Diocese. Their collective vision promises a future marked by progress, healing, and a deeper commitment to love Jesus, embody justice, and be disciples.
