by | Jun 26, 2005

This year marks Jackson-Field’s 170th anniversary – an incredible milestone. Since its founding in 1855, it has endured world-changing events like the Civil War, two World Wars, the Great Depression, the Cold War, the Civil Rights Movement, and the rise of modern technology. Through it all, the mission has remained constant to serve children.

It is a residential psychiatric treatment program serving children living with severe mental illness. Its mission is to provide high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric, residential, educational, and recovery treatment services to children who live with severe emotional trauma, mental illness, and/or substance use disorder. The goal is to restore wellness and provide support for their successful reintegration into homes, families, and communities.

Founded by Rev. William N. Jackson to care for children orphaned by a Yellow Fever epidemic, Jackson-Field is one of the nation’s oldest continuously operating residential programs for children. Thousands of young lives have been transformed thanks to the dedication of staff, board members, and stakeholders.

They believe their best days are ahead and stand ready to meet the challenges of the future in order to continue to make a meaningful difference of children living with mental illness.

If you know of a child who is in need of residential psychiatric treatment services, contact Jackson-Field for assistance.
