(Richmond, Virginia, May 8, 2026) – Virginia Episcopal Investment Funds announces the upcoming retirement of its Executive Director, A. Lynn Ivey, after six distinguished and successful years at the helm of VEIF.
“Lynn has made an extraordinary contribution to VEIF,” Board President Bob Clarke said. “His steady hand and strategic vision have made a huge difference to the Funds, the Diocese, and the 150 Episcopal organizations that invest with VEIF.”
Clarke noted that during Ivey’s tenure, numerous accomplishments have been achieved including an increase in assets under management in VEIF’s pooled investment funds of 28 percent to approximately $160 million, programs for strategic planning and continuity of operations across VEIF have been implemented, and the VEIF Board has expanded its outreach to participant churches throughout the Diocese by holding quarterly board meetings in-person across the Diocese for the past three years.
“I feel truly honored to have headed VEIF during a time of growth and challenges for the organization,” Ivey said. “It’s been a real privilege, and I’m grateful to have worked with the board, our team of investment and administrative professionals, and our Participants.”
In retirement, Lynn is planning to focus on volunteer activities, particularly at his church, St. Stephen’s Episcopal in Richmond. Ivey noted that he would remain as the Executive Director of VEIF until a successor is named to ensure a seamless transition.
Before joining VEIF in December 2020, Lynn had worked in the financial services industry for over 25 years as an investment banker and financial advisor. He served as Senior Vice President, Managing Director, or Department Head in various financial institutions. Before starting a career in finance, Lynn served as Assistant General Counsel at the Virginia State Corporation Commission.
VEIF also announced the formation of a search committee to select a new Executive Director. The committee is chaired by Alan Gayle, who also chairs VEIF’s Investment Committee, along with Board President Bob Clarke, Vice President Bob Pettit, Bob Cady, chair of the Operations Committee, and Investment Committee Advisor Elizabeth Cabell Jennings, along with two outside consultants.
