On July 13, Bishop Ted Gulick, Retired Bishop in Residence, ordained three new deacons at St. Andrew’s, Burke. God willing, these deacons will be ordained as priests on January 18, 2025.
Becki Casey was sponsored for Ordination by Clarke Parish, Berryville, and has been serving a post-seminary internship with Little Fork Parish in Rixeyville. She will continue her ministry focusing on rural settings within the Diocese of Virginia.
Reginald Hayes is a chaplain at the Bishop John T. Walker School for Boys in Washington, DC, where he will continue his ministry. He has been serving in a post-seminary internship with Immanuel Church-on-the-Hill in Alexandria, and is sponsored for ordination by Church of the Resurrection, Alexandria.
Caroline Mitchell is a Situation Awareness Manager at the National Headquarters of the American Red Cross. She will continue to serve diaconally at St. Thomas, McLean, where she has been serving in a post-seminary internship. Caroline is sponsored for ordination by Clarke Parish, Berryville.
All three new Deacons are graduates of Virginia Theological Seminary and will continue to serve in the Diocese of Virginia in their unique blend of parish and community ministries.
