Emmanuel’s Table, a ministry of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Woodstock, Virginia, has received $3,000 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help nourish neighbors experiencing hunger. The Nourishing our Neighbors grant supports community feeding partners by helping neighbors increase their access to nutritious food and providing nutrition education to eliminate health risks for those experiencing food insecurity.

“This generous grant will strengthen Emmanuel’s Table Food Pantry at a moment of increasing need. Since August, we have seen a more than 350% increase in the number of households seeking assistance. The funds will allow us to keep our shelves stocked with fresh and healthy food options, expand our capacity to serve additional families, and continue offering a dignified and welcoming experience for every guest,” said Mary Ann Cox, Food Pantry Coordinator. The Rev. Kathleen Murray, Rector of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, said, “We are so honored to be partnered with the Food Lions Feeds Charitable Foundation and our local Food Lion; they are helping to directly advance our mission to care for the most vulnerable in our community with compassion, respect, and hope.”
