Amen. – Prayer for Mission\, Book of Common Prayer\, p. 125 \nJoin the inaugural Diocese of Virginia Virtual Prayer Service for Global Mission on Monday October 7th at from 7:30-8:00 pm on Zoom. \nIn person travel to be with global partners is often not feasible yet we can gather together to pray for them. During this brief prayer service\, we will lift up in prayer our global community of love. Participants will be invited to share their church and their global partners to the prayers of the people. Dr. Margaret Bullitt-Jonas and the Rev. Dr. Leah Schade\, this collection of essays from many faith traditions is rich in content and offers thought-provoking questions. “Building spiritual muscle” by the practice of meditation is included in the work of this book. Led by Deacon Salli Hartman and Kathy Ellis\, the 7–week journey will begin Thursday\, Sept. 5\, from 7 PM to 8:15 PM\, and continue weekly. This informational meeting is for you! \nThe Union of Black Episcopalians\, first founded in 1968 as the Union of Black Clergy and Laity\, is a powerful witness within The Episcopal Church. With over 55 chapters across the US\, Caribbean\, Canada\, Africa\, and Latin America\, UBE advocates for Black leadership\, combat racism\, and celebrate Black voices in the church\, and is open to anyone committed to uniting the diverse cultures\, concerns and gifts of Black Episcopalians by providing preparation and encouragement for living the Baptismal Covenant and fully participating in the mission and governance of The Episcopal Church. \nDuring the virtual gathering you will have the opportunity to hear from the Reverend Kim Coleman\, National UBE President\, who will share insights into the organization’s mission and impact\, and Mrs. Helen Sharpe-Williams\, Mid-Atlantic Regional President\, will discuss the UBE’s role in the region.  Following the UBE discussion Bishop E.
