SUMMARY:Fall Book Study: Migrant God: A Christian Vision for Immigrant Justice\, by Isaac Villegas
DESCRIPTION:Canon Hill and the Ministry for Racial Justice and Healing invites you to share in fall book study of “Migrant God: A Christian Vision for Immigrant Justice” by Isaac Villegas.  In a world grappling with complex issues of migration and belonging\, Villegas offers a powerful and deeply theological exploration of God’s presence among migrants and our call as Christians to advocate for justice\, welcome and the dignity of every human being. This isn’t just a book study about immigration\, but a profound reflection on the very nature of God\, our shared humanity\, and what it means to Love Jesus\, Embody Justice and Be Disciples as people of faith. \nIn our three-week book study\, we will explore: \n\nBiblical narratives of migration and displacement: How does scripture inform our understanding of the migrant experience?\nTheological foundations for immigrant justice: What does our faith teach us about welcoming the stranger and advocating for the vulnerable?\nPractical ways to engage in advocacy and support: How can we\, as individuals and as a church\, make a tangible difference in the lives of migrants and immigrants?\nChallenging our assumptions and expanding our compassion: How can we grow in empathy and understanding for those on the margins?\n\nStudy Details: \n\nBook: Migrant God: A Christian Vision for Immigrant Justice by Isaac Villegas (Please purchase and read your copy before each session.)\nFormat: Zoom\nStart Date: September 2\, 2025\nMeeting Day/Time: Tuesday\, 3:00pm\n\n\n\n\nSession One: Introduction\, Chapter 1\, Chapter 2\, and Chapter 3\nSession Two: Chapter 4\, Chapter 5\, and Chapter 6\nSession Three: Chapter 7\, Chapter 8\, and Conclusion\n\n\n\n\nFacilitator: Canon Dr. J.
