DESCRIPTION:Time to Reconnect\, Time to Relax \nShrine Mont will host a retreat geared towards lay leaders and volunteers from October 6 – October 8. The retreat will include yoga\, meditation\, contemplative prayer\, fellowship\, story-sharing\, and other fun activities. DESCRIPTION:A weekend of contemplative events and services to recommitting ourselves to the ongoing work of truth telling\, repair\, and racial justice and healing to foster God’s Beloved Community. This year we are excited to host Dr. Catherine Meeks as our featured preacher\, workshop leaders\, and forum speaker.  Dr. Meeks is the founder and retired Director of the Episcopal Church’s Absalom Jones Center for Racial Healing.  Events include: \n\nFriday\, October 18\, 3:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.: Walking with the Enslaved: The Church’s Role in Slavery pilgrimage and dinner (please register below\, limit 25 people). NOTE: This iteration of the pilot program will be particularly geared for those with mobility issues.  We are renting a passenger bus and the pilgrimage will involve minimal or optional walking.  \nSaturday\, October 19\, 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.: Racial Healing Workshop with Dr. Catherine Meeks with lunch included\, Scott Hall (please register below\, no limit).  Racism’s roots can be located deep inside of human beings in the unknowns of their souls. Racial healing requires an investigation into those unknowns and seeking to allow the light of consciousness and love to heal them. DESCRIPTION:Join us for our 2nd Annual Free Community Fall Festival on Saturday\, Oct. 26th\, from 11:00 to 3:00! Admission and all games and activities are FREE! \nWe’ll have fabulous live music from the Irish folk band Whiskey Before Breakfast and classic rock from Chasing Magic. There will be fantastic food for purchase thanks to Fava Pot Egyptian food\, Zells Kitchen (tacos and more!)\, and DonutNV made-to-order donuts. \nKids are sure to enjoy our indoor laser tag\, bouncy house\, face painting\, and professional photo booth\, plus free games with prizes. There will be costume parades at 12:00 & 2:00. \nExplore our beautiful array of pumpkins and gords at our St. Thomas Pumpkin Patch! All proceeds support our local charitable partners: SHARE of McLean Food Bank\, Second Story\, FACETS\, and the Falls Church McLean Children’s Center. \nParking is available across the street from St. Thomas (at Providence Baptist Church\, 8980 Brook Rd.
