DESCRIPTION:Sacramental Citizenship will take place from the evening of April 12\, 2024\, to the afternoon of April 14\, 2024 at Roslyn Conference and Retreat Center in Richmond\, VA. Participants will stay on site at Roslyn and will eat\, study\, talk\, and pray together. While many participants likely live in the Richmond area\, we ask that you plan to stay at Roslyn for the duration of the retreat; proximity aids community. The fee for the retreat is $200 and includes your accommodation\, meals\, and retreat materials. Scholarships are available; please indicate a need for financial assistance when completing the registration form. \nSacramental Citizenship will be led by the Rev. Cate Anthony\, Associate Rector at St. Stephen’s in Richmond. Cate’s ministry has focused intently on cancel culture\, building community across lines of difference\, and practical Christian ethics in our contemporary context. Cate is a fellow of the Episcopal Church Foundation; this retreat is the capstone of her fellowship project. Cate will be joined by Jessica Church\, the Political Director at Public Wise\, a national organization with an unyielding commitment to building and protecting a multiracial democracy.

SUMMARY:Concert Series - The Portland Guitar Duo
DESCRIPTION:St. George’s Episcopal Church will offer a free concert by The Portland Guitar Duo on Sunday\, April 21 at 3 pm as part of the church’s Concert Series. \nWith a shared enthusiasm for the duo medium\, James Manuele and Foti Lycouridis formed The Portland Guitar Duo in 1999. They’ve performed in numerous venues throughout the United States as a duo team\, as soloists with chamber ensembles\, and in appearances on radio and television. The Portland Guitar Duo focuses on Historical Interpretation and performs on a number of instruments from the guitar and lute families such as Renaissance\, Baroque lutes and Mandora\, Baroque guitars\, Romantic guitars of the 1800s\, Modern Classical guitars\, and 10-string guitars. \nThe concert is free with donations accepted at the door.

No experience in Yoga is required\, and all techniques are adaptable to ensure individual comfort and success. \nYogaVoice® is a personal transformation technology founded by opera singer and yoga teacher Mark Moliterno that helps you to find your deep\, inner purpose and its clear expression. Time-honored yoga practices\, yoga therapy techniques\, and a wellness-based voice training method help you remove the obstacles that might be impeding your authentic voice. YogaVoice® training provides essential tools for cultivating an empowered voice in singing\, public speaking\, teaching\, and entrepreneurship. \nThere will be three 1-hour introductory sessions led by Director of Music Ministries John Vreeland to provide basic information and practice in breathing\, body awareness\, and phonation. They will be held on the following Mondays: April 8th\, 15th\, and 22nd at 7 pm in the choir room. St. Stephen’s\, Richmond\, will celebrate this historic event\, and the gifts of the opening of all orders of ministry to women\, with a weekend of events April 26-28. \nFriday\, 6 p.m.: Screening of the documentary film\, “The Philadelphia Eleven\,” followed by “talk back” with the Rev. Claudia Merritt\, former associate rector at St. Stephen’s\, the Rev. Cate Anthony\, current associate rector\, and the Rev. Whitney Edwards\, vicar of Varina Church and former chaplain at St. Christopher’s School. \nSaturday\, 9 a.m.-noon: Cate Anthony will lead a half-day retreat for women concluding with a luncheon prepared and served by the Women of St. Stephen’s (parish ECW). \nSunday\, 9 and 11:15 a.m.: the Rev. Weezie Blanchard\, former vicar at St. Stephen’s\, will preach at two morning services \nSunday\, 10:10 a.m.: Weezie Blanchard\, Cate Anthony\, and the Rev. Margaret Austin will speak during the Sunday Forum on a panel moderated by the Rev. John Rohrs\, rector \nSunday\, 5:30 p.m.: the Rev.
