SUMMARY:Writing the Church's Song 2025
DESCRIPTION:For those who work for the church week in and week out\, time away to rest\, reflect\, and re-inspire is important. Writing the Church’s Song is a three-day writing retreat for beginner and intermediate hymn writers. Two exceptional clinicians will challenge\, inspire\, and guide you as a hymn writer. These mentors will provide sessions on how to start writing hymns and how to hone your skills throughout the three days. Group sessions to build writing/composing skills will be offered\, as well as one-on-one time with the mentors to discuss your works in detail and receive personal feedback. \nMore Information & Registration

DESCRIPTION:St. George’s Episcopal Church will offer a free concert of Scary Music for Organ on Saturday\, October 25\, 2025 at 7:30 pm\, featuring The Organist Friends of St. George’s (Trystan Bennett\, Achim Loch\, John Vreeland\, Alex Johnson\, and Magnus Lartey). \nOur most popular annual concert includes haunting renditions of works by J.S. Bach\, Fela Sowande\, Felix Mendelssohn\, Marcel Dupré\, Hans Zimmer\, Max Reger\, Herbert Howells\, Jean Langlais and César Franck. The evening will be sure to be terrifyingly delightful and monstrously entertaining. Feel free to come in costume! \nThe concert is free with donations to the organ fund accepted at the door. \nKnown for its lush acoustics and welcoming atmosphere\, St. George’s offers a year-round concert series showcasing both local and nationally recognized artists. This performance promises an afternoon of “beautiful music in a beautiful space\,” continuing the church’s tradition of musical excellence.
