DESCRIPTION:Honoring the legacy\, spirit\, and witness of the Right Reverend John Shelby Spong—a fearless voice for a Christianity that is both intellectually rigorous and compassionately lived—the Bishop Spong Speaker Series carries forward the vision of the historic “Lenten Lunches\,” while offering a fresh and relevant twist. \nThis five-week series is designed to foster rich and meaningful dialogue around the themes that shaped Bishop Spong’s life and ministry and that remain deeply relevant today: biblical scholarship\, progressive Christian thought\, justice\, and equality.
